Lodging in Provence

How convenient is Mormoiron for lavender viewing? Anything you can tell me about the area? We plan to rent a car. Do you have a better area or even a specific place you can recommend? Need two bed apartment for 4 nights. Hoping someone can help me.

That's a very good location for viewing the lavender fields around Sault. We've stayed in nearby Bedoin for 10 weeks in a gite. But gites we stay in (74 in all so far) rent for a minimum of 7 days & Sat to Sat.

The area is quite scenic. I have a 35 page Provence & Cote d'Azur itinerary that describes our favorite villages, scenic drives, markets, sites, etc. Including a scenic drive past Mormoiron. I've sent this itinerary to over 2,000 people on Fodors. If you would like a copy, e-mail me at [email protected] & I'll attach one to the reply e-mail.

I don't know any apts but that area would be okay. I think it might be a bit more convenient to situation yourself somewhat south/SE of there, though for viewing fields in the Luberon and over to Sault.

Here is a map with a bunch of lavender routes you can check out. Look at the route between Ventoux and Luberon for an example.

I just think it might be more convenient to be able to view the fields around Luberon or going east to Manosque, etc, if you were more down towards maybe Roussillon/Gordes or even Apt
