Location to go on a Coast after Rome for 4 days????
Hi there!
My hubby and I are traveling to Rome in 2 weeks. We are spending 4 days in Rome and have 4 more days to go anywhere after. We would love to go somewhere on a coast to a town that is charming, has great food and culture, beautiful views and etc . Added bonus is if its not swarming with tourists 24/7.
We can drive or fly from Rome.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated!!!
thanks!

On any coast in Europe? Adriatic, Mediterranean? Beaches, rocky shore, casual, glitzy, cheap or expensive? Greece, Spain, France?
If you're flying, the possibilities are endless, but I guess I would stick to the EU so that I didn't have to change money twice. How about Sicily? We were there last month and we loved it.

Why not Naples?
For 4 days only, I wouldn't go up to Sicily.
If it must not be a costal town, there are tons of charming hill towns and others in Latium and Umbria.

Sorrento is a good choice and you can explore the Amalfi Coast from there.
Ostia is another nice beach area. You would be next door to Oastia Antica, which has everything Pompeii has except the history. Oastia Antica does have two important amenities missing in Pompeii: 1. A breeze blowing in from the sea, and 2. Shade.
Buon viaggio,
