Have you looked at the relative locations---that may help you to decide. The Locanda is close to San Marco while the other is at Rialto. Do you have a preference?

I think it might be fun to have a view of the grand canal, so A.P.A. would be nice.

Then again, it might be fun to be close to St. Marks

Heads or tales .... Thanks (also the prices are a consideration)

I prefer the locanda just from staying there 8 times and viewing Al Ponte twice.

But you should be aware that there are some changes afoot at the Locanda -- I'm about to start another thread about it.

I stayed at the Al Ponte Antico last year and thought both the hotel and the location were great.

Just got back from Al Ponte Antico. The kind staff is wonderful and the terrasse overlooking the grand canal are great. I did find the beds really uncomfortable ( way too firm!) but everything else made up for it.

Sounds Matteo is still on the case providing excellent service! Too bad about the hard beds.

Thanks for checking back in.
