The centre of Manchester has many good hotels and the stations for train travel to North Wales won't be more than 10 minutes away from anywhere in the city. If you have a car, then the routes out of town to the motorway network are pretty good. Whoever booked your room should be fired for not looking where they were sending you
. Try www.laterooms.com or www.lastminute.com for hotels in the city centre. It's searchable by price, standard of hotel and location.

When I was planning to stay in Manchester I had a reservation at Motel One Piccadilly - https://www.motel-one.com/en/hotels/manchester/
I have stayed in a couple of Motel Ones in Germany, basic but comfortable and good value. Not in the same class as your country hotel, though.

I've stayed at several central Manchester hotels over the years eg the Midland, the Mercure Piccadilly, Radisson Blu, Crowne Plaza city centre, Renaissance, the Britannia (which I don't recommend at all). If you are having a rental car, make sure you pick a hotel with parking or parking close by. Will you be working in central Manchester for the day and a half? Motorway connections are great but traffic can be horrendous.

Use Your UK Train Journey Planner - National Rail Enquiries to look up trains.
Your nearest station is Holmes Chapel, about two miles away.
How are you getting to work? To the hotel?

Are you still willing to rent a car? It would make your trip easier especially as there are a few of you. You can get to Conwy and see the castle and the other seaside places along that coastline, parking at the hotel won't be an issue.

There are more than a few train problems going on in the north at present, see https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-44347990 if travelling soon, trains may not be your best option.
We are currently house sitting in Cheshire not to far from where you will be staying and have been getting out and about the area. Tatton Park and Dunham Massey are National Trust properties that are worth a visit and are easily accessible by car from where you are staying. Knutsford is a pleasant town and spent yesterday in Chester and really enjoyed it.

There is a station in Holmes Chapel. But it isn't a short train ride to anywhere. You really will need to rent a car. How are you getting from MAN to the hotel?
Do you know where you are working? Is it at a conference AT the hotel complex? If, instead, it is in Manchester (or just about anyplace else for that matter) you will have massive commute times.

We've suggested quite a few already.
>> How do we plan this ?<<
You rent a car and drive. To get to Conwy for instance by train you'd have to get to Holmes Chapel, then take a 2 to 2.5+ hour/two change train ride each way. Driving would take about 1.5 hours or a little more.
