Lindau Hotel Help

Hi Michelle -- I think I just replied to your question about a hotel in Rothenburg!

We stayed at the Hotel Garni Brugger last summer as well. It was a delightful little hotel. Our room was huge by European standards. The beds and linens were divine too! The hotel does NOT face the lake but the lake is a very short walk -- 5 minutes at the most. The Spielbank (casino) is very close if you are interested in that. Also, there is a beautiful park just across the street. We stayed there two nights and this was at the end of our 3-1/2 weeks in Europe. We found Lindau and the Hotel Garni Bruger to be a wonderful place to wind down after our long trip. The hotel is a small, family run operation. Breakfast was good. I think we only paid about $105/night for a room for 3 (and it was very big).

Michelle - I will be staying at the Hotel Garni Brugger on June 18. This will be the next to last night of our 15 day trip. I made all the reservations for the whole trip via email and the web. When I sent email to Hotel Brugger inquiring about availability, Herr Brugger replied immediately with an offer.

When I return from this trip I am going to write a travelogue and put it on my web site. I'll be happy to post a link to my site here on this board so others can read it. The itinerary is:

St. Goar, Rothenburg o d Tauber, Munich, Berchtesgaden, Mittenwald, Fuessen, Lindau, Mainz.

Another wonderful hotel in Lindau where we stayed last year is the Lindauer Hof, facing the water and the square, with a good restaurant. If you decide on this hotel, re-post a question about Lindau parking because getting your car to the hotel is a bit tricky, but easy once you know how. If you are going by train, you will find the Lindauer Hof only a short distance from the train station. Lindau is lovely; have a good trip.
