I will be arriving in Limoges from Paris and will have a few hours to spend there before taking a train to Thiviers. Can you recommend a cafe or restaurant?
Also, we'll be arriving around 2:25, are there any eating establishments open at that time?

Limoges isn't the most scenic of towns, but you may be interested in seeing the trompe-l'oil at Pace de la Motte. It's done by the same artists who did the wonderful work in Lyon.
2:25 is about when lunch service will be ending, but you can usually find somewhere that will still serve food. I don't have any recommendations for eating since we drove around the city, but never ate there.

Try the Butcher's museum at Rue de la Boucherie, it's quite interesting and they have guided tours in English. They reopen after lunch at 2.30pm.
Also visit the Jardin l'Eveche (Bishop's garden), quite pretty.
Good luck and enjoy!
