Limo from Naples to Positano?
We will be arriving in Naples by train and then would like to take a car service to Positano rather than bother with buses, ferries etc. Can anyone recommend a driver or company?
We've heard lots of horror stories about the Naples train station and green tourists getting swindled. And that it is essential to make sure you have a driver in advance who waits for you with a sign in the station. Is that true?
Thanks!

Hi MW - The following have all been recommended here:
Positano-based:
www.positanocarservice.com
www.flaviogioia.com
www.limocarservice.net
www.benvenutolimos.com
If you prefer a Naples based company contact:
www.taxinapoli.net
Hope this helps ...

I also recommend Salvatore Lucibello at DriveAmalfi. He is courteous, dependable, raised on the AC and knows it well. He drives a Mercedes Minivan and we use his services from Naples train station to Praiano. He is waiting on the platform for us, and the last time the train was 45 minutes late but there he was.

It has been a couple of years, but we used positanocarservice from recommendations on this board. They were waiting with a sign as soon as we got off the train. Now that we've been once, I don't know if we'd use the car service again, but it was convenient (and expensive).

Steve,
I don't take it personally but Salvatore is the nicest guy you could expect to meet and I think your strong opinions might be directed in the wrong direction.Amalfi is a small place with most people either working in tourism or knowing someone who works in tourism and you will find nobody here with a bad word to say about Salvatore.
If you are coming to the Coast let me know.
Thanks
Gerardo

i suggest you rethink the issue.
taking the hydrofoil across the bay of naples can be the most memorable thing you do on your trip. Newly arrived in Naples, anxious to dive into your plans, a taxi from the station to the dock, and then the Bay of Naples. No taxi/limo can match that experience of "flying" across the Bay of Naples in an "aliscafo, with Vesuvius to your left, Sorrento dead ahead, Capri & Ischia to your right, and 2,800 years of culture surround you waiting to be enjoyed

If you are flying into Naples, it is much easier and more straightforward to take a taxi/car directly from the airport to your hotel rather than have to take a taxi or bus to the docks and then take another taxi at your destination port to your hotel.

Hi Italybound - A limo transfer is certainly more convenient as Eks says - and much quicker.
N.B. If you choose the hydrofoil option, note that there are only 2/3 hydrofoil services per day to Positano/Amalfi. You can find timetables for your date at -

Departures are from Napoli Beverello
Hope this helps ...

Hi Bora,

It's unlikely that the driver will take you and your luggage to the train track. If he does, that's worth a tip.
There are information offices and a signboard telling you which track is yours.
It is best if you look for your train's time and number, since your destination might not be the train's terminus.

Hi there,
I came to Sorrento at the end of summer and went with a lady called Mariella.
She has recently added a website too : www.charmlimos.eu
I used her for a transfer from Naples airport to Sorrento and for a couple of private tours (it was 4 of us in the car with the driver).
I have also used others (barbaro carservice and another which I can't remember the name of..
) and they were all excellent, but this one had a couple of extra touches in there, stuff like welcome drinks in the car and little things that just made me feel like I was actually getting a luxury service!
