light luggage?

There are a lot of sales today so hubby wants to go shop for luggage. We want something very very light (I hate getting old), Anyway, we know about Eagle Creek but it was very expensive. Someone mentioned Delsey????...Are there other brands that are light?.Not concerned over looks.

Thanks..

I have a Travel Gear 24" that I just love because it is lightweight and smaller in depth and width than most "24 suitcases. Perfect for train travel if a 22" carry-on isn't quite large enough for you.

It was $50 at Marshalls. I don't know if you have Ross or Marshall's stores in your part of the country but they are a great place to shop for luggage.

You might want to check out the web site www.packinglight.com They offer several different brands (including Eagle Creek) at discount prices. They also give you all the specs, like weight etc.

I've have had experience with three different 22" Travel Pro suitcases:

The first one, Walkabout Series, has been used for about five years, and is lightweight and still in very good condition.

The second one is a Walkabout Lite, which I bought for my 12-year old granddaughter. It has all the same features, but the weight is further reduced because the frame is lighter. Good for her age and the amount of use.

The third one is a Travel Pro Crew. More expensive than the other two. It is of excellent quality with lots of features, and an indestructible frame. Travel Pro advertises it as light, but I think is is slightly heavier than the regular Walkabout.

Thanks for the input. We really like the Crew 5 from Travelpro and even found a website which offers a bonus tote if you buy two of them...

......I use a hard-sided Delsey carry-on
wheelie that weights 2.2K. I managed
to get a month's worth of clothing in
it (20 lbs) and it was very easy to
manuever thro' airports, etc.

I bought it at Winners (Canadian
TJMaxx, Marshalls) for $50 Cdn.

Loisco: <ayjay and others can tell you that the fun of going to Marshalls or TJMaxx is being able to testdrive the luggage. Honestly. We would load the cases up with stuff nearby and then wheel.

Amelia...That is hilarious. Well I am going to go this week and do that too. I see lots of luggage at TJ but never thought of driving it. Good idea.
