Would you recomend staying in Lido?

I'm going to assume you mean the Lido of Venice. I would adise that, if you want to visit historic Venice, stay in historic Venice. If you want an active beach resort type of vacation in the summer, stay on the Lido.

I'd always prefer staying in Venice to staying on the Lido. Apart from everything else, the presence of cars, trucks, and buses makes it a most unvenetian experience. Ruth

I recall from previous research that the boat between Lido and Venice takes about 30-40 minutes one way.
