Lenin's Tomb Moscow

Is Lenin's corpse still available for viewing in Red Square? How much does it cost? Is it a worthwhile attraction?

Yes, it still is open, despite constant rumors that the body will be removed and buried next to his mother in St. Petersburg.

It is free to visit. Check locally for the times open. When you go you cannot have ANY bags or cameras with you, so you might want to leave them in your hotel. The line can get quite long (1 hour wait).

As for being worthwile, it is an interesting piece of history. I don't view it as paying tribute or respect to the era, rather I think it is just viewing an icon of history.

Hint: It is EXTREMELY dark at the entrance and you will be disoriented. Take a moment to adjust your eyes to the darkness before you enter (I walked right into a guard during my visit!).

Charles, be aware that the opening and closing times can change without notification or explanation. I was traveling last summer with 3 Russians. They took us to Red Sqaure. The tomb was open. We walked around for a few minutes. When we returned to the area, the tomb was closed. They asked when we could get in, and no one knew or would even suggest when it might be open again that afternoon.

While we're on the topic, are there any other dead dictators on display for public viewing in Europe?
