Leipzig music tickets

I want to buy tickets for the St. Thomas choir concerts and the Gewandhaus but cannot find an online way to do this. Any suggestions?

Bad timing - I was in Leipzig yesterday! Well, as far as I know you cannot buy tickets for the Motettes and Orgelvespers (Fri 6 pm and Sat 3 pm). Come and take a seat in St. Thomas church. You need to buy a programme for 1 Euro, though.

For Gewandhaus have a look at this site:

I was also curious about this. I plan to be in Leipzig January 17&18 2004 to attend the 3pm program. I also plan to go to the Thomaskirche on Sunday at 9:30. Ingo, can you tell us anything about this service?

For Gewandhaus tickets, try this site: http://leipzig-info.net/

No advance tickets are sold for the concerts at St. Thomas.

On January 17, the 3 p.m. program includes Mendelssohn's "Singet dem Herrn" and Bach's Sanctus in D accompanied by the Gewandhaus Orchestra.

The 9:30 service on January 18 is a regular Lutheran Sunday morning service following the liturgy for the 2nd Sunday after Epiphany. The choir is scheduled to sing the normal choral portions of the service. When I was in Leipzig in 2000, the 9:30 service was immediately followed by a Communion service.

I think Thomas answered your questions adequately, eh?

Go and enjoy!

But the Semper Opera is in Dresden, not in Leipzig, right?
