leaving tomorrow for Paris - Last minute "do not forgets"?

Finally, tomorrow we will fly to Paris for 10 days! We were there almost 30 years ago and are excited about making this trip a more "relaxed" one. As I pack, I am wondering, "did I forget anything?" Any last minute advice? Thanks to all who helped w/ suggestions to make this a great trip - I'll return w/ reports on restaurants and sights to return the favor.

dolciani,

Have a great time! Make sure you have some crepes with bananas and nutella when you get to Paris.

Not sure what you packed, so that makes it difficult for last minute advice. Take bandaids and moleskin. No matter how good your shoes are broken in and how much you paid for them, inevitably you will end up with blisters.

You might find cool souvenir Eiffel Tower necklaces at the foot of the ET for about 5 euros.

Have a fun trip. I admit being jealous that I'm stuck in Iowa!

dolciani,

You are going to have a wonderful time. As my dad says, as long as you have money and your passport, you're never stuck.

Enjoy!

Any last minute advice?

Go to bed!

Seriously, though, stop planning and relax. If you're reading Fodors for advice at this point, you're going to get all uptight and that exacerbates jet lag.

I learned this the hard way on our first trip. We were exhausted when we got on the plane and suffered 4 days' jet lag once in Paris. I now have a rule that I don't get on Fodors in the last 48 hours before leaving. You'll have a wonderful time and that last little detail you search for is not going to make one bit of difference. If you forgot to pack something you can buy it there.

So....STOP...and go get some sleep.!

Passport.
Tickets/e-ticket receipt.
Credit cards.
Medicines.
Glasses.
Everything else can be bought there if you forgot it.

And stop the mail and newspapers.

Hi D,

Read Linda's trip report on Paris currently on this board.

I always wonder about posts regarding "leaving tomorrow for -----, any last do not forgets".

Is it an announcement of their departure?

Let your credit card company know that you will be using its card overseas, otherwise you could find payment for purchases denied.
