Leaving tomorrow for england!!
So excited leaving tomorrow for London (5 days) Stratford (2 days), Bath (1 day) and Brighton.(2 days) Little confused about what to pack but am going to try and "do the layering thing" and have some things cleaned before we leave London. We rented a minivan, hopefully we'll fit our luggage in!
Anyone want me to check anything out for them while I'm there?
I'll post report when we arrive home.
Bye and thanks for all your great help.

I'm so excited for you too! We visited England last August and also rented a vehicle (but not in London). Bath was our first stop and wished we had stayed more than the two days we were there just so we could have ventured into the surrounding area to see Avebury or Glastonbury or Wells. For a nice and reasonably priced dinner (close to "the Circus"
you might try Martini Restaurant (at 9 George St)
In Stratford-upon-Avon, we really enjoyed a play at the Royal Shakespeare Company - the best performance of Shakespeare you'll ever see! Again, with Stratford, my only regret is that I just wished we had allowed ourselves time to venture into the surrounding countryside (even just a 20 to 30 min drive outside of the town).
Have a wonderful time ... looking forward to reading your report.
Cheers!

I second the advice about seeing a play at the RSC in Stratford...such a wonderful experience! And get an early start if possible in Stratford; try to get to the main sites (birthplace, Holy Trinity Church where WS is buried) in the morning before the tourist busses arrive. Otherwise, it will feel much like Disneyland or Venice at midday!

We loved the English countryside. I didn't have time to explore half of what I wanted, and know I'll be back.
One thing I will do differently on our next visit, is to rent a smaller [compact] car. When going through some older towns [my favorite was Stamford] we wished we had a narrower car. One time we literally had to back out because we could not fit with our mid size car, past a mini van. I also witnessed someone scraping another car's side view mirror.
Enjoy the trip! It goes by so quickly.
