Leather jacket for travel

I will be in Berlin, Krakow, Budapest, Vienna, Prague from September 12-30th. Then I will be in southern Germany and the Rhine & Mosal river areas from October 1-17th. I am having trouble deciding what coat or jacket to take. I have a knee-length micofiber all-weather coat and I have a hip length light weight black leather jacket. I tend to be warm-natured. I also have a very light wind breaker I can take. I do plan to take a couple of sweaters. Right now I'm thinking I would like to take my leather jacket. Any opinions?

Personally, I'd go for the leather jacket and the jumpers- more versatile that the all weather coat, IMO.

I love to travel with my leather jackets. They are like old friends.

I suppose the microfiber one would be more practical but the surprise is in being unpractical.

September/October are not THAT cold so the leather would be fine with a sweater underneath in the evening. In fact, you should catch the last of the summer weather in Sept.

Is it a lightweight leather blazer or a heavier leather jacket? If the latter I would think it too warm for September - when a sweater - or at night a cotton sweater and a light windbreaker would be enough.

(For perspective - I never wear my {heavier} leather jacket until the high temps for the day are under 45 - or a winter coat until it goes below freezing.)

The microfiber all weather is always good! (microfiber is very light weight and can fold up easily). Of course you said your leather jacket is LIGHT also. Are they both black!Which one is better in the RAIN???
Can you easily wear sweaters under either of them.?
Go with what you find the most comfortable AND easier to CARRY or PACK!
Leather breathes, but really isn't for warmth!

Just chuck it all in the bin and wear one of those plastic rain ponchos from Chicos.

My vote would go to the microfiber all-weather coat. Or, take both. (My 3/4 raincoat fits nicely in the outside pocket of the suitcase, and you could bring the leather jacket on the plane.) And, leather is really not practical when it's raining - and there are always unexpected showers.

I find when it warms up a leather jacket is too warm and the microfiber coat will be easier to carry around (or fold up into a tote bag) when not wearing it.
