This is one of those things about this forum that drives people crazy. This message was posted by winnie "under" Spain, but the forum does not explain that it really is crucial to MENTION the country, since the forum does NOT do it.

And most visitors here look at "all Europe" - - not just one country, like Spain.

Since there are "cities" in the south of Spain (Sevilla, Granada, Marbella) where fasions of every type are sold, I actually do not understand the question. But I think you can find good leather goods everywhere in Spain. I have never specifically shopped for any, personally.

Might be worthwhile to ask on www.madridman.com as well as here if you don't get many answers.

Best wishes,

Rex
Ooops, realised my blunder. Allow me to rephrase :

I'm visiting Madrid and Barcelona, as well as Andalucia. While the guide books rave abt how leather goods are a good deal in the Andalucia region, nothing much is mentioned of Madrid or Barcelona..and I pretty much guess there'll be loads of shpg malls there where I can grab leather goods too(shoes, handbags)...

there...hope this is clearer.
I do not know about leather in madrid or Barcelona but I bought a handbag for my wife in Pontevedra, Galicia, which seems OK. However The best value I have found is at Ubrique near Ronda which is a little town which still specialises in leather - at least it did when I was last in the area in the mid 90s.
