Le Welcome Cafe

Does anyone know anything about the food at Le Welcome Cafe in Paris - 1st District - Rue de Rivoli?

Karen: I did a search with
www.pagesjaunes.fr
but I did not find any café with THAT name on Rue de Rivoli.
I suggest you try the Café "Marly" , 93, Rue de Rivoli, which is a very trendy spot. Good for people watching.

Sorry, found it!! It's at number 210, but cannot tell you anything about the food. I guess it's just one of the numerous cafés on Rue de Rivoli, full of tourists, nothing special to say about the food, but probably quite convenient for a snack and a rest.
Sorry, but I am not really a fan of Rue de Rivoli, anyway. Too crowded with tourists, too overpriced.

Has anyone ever met Thierry who used to be a waiter at Le Welcome? I heard that he left and would like to know where he can be reached. Hopefully someone knows of him.

Thanks

Le Welcome is the cafe on the corner of rue de Rivoli and I believe the rue vingt-neuf Juillet, with the yellow canvas backed chairs, with the Le Welcome logo on them...

The food is beyond mediocre and the staff is not at all friendly. They have Credit Cards they accept on the window, yet, they refuse to take them!?

Karen-Yes "Le Welcome" is right by the Paris Vision office on the Rue Rivoli. It is a place to grab coffee or something very quick--the advantage is the location as you go from place to place. I've had coffee and a sandwich there, not memorable except for the amusing name.

We ate lunch at this busy little cafe just down from the Louvre. The French onion soup was so good we came back several days later to enjoy it again!

How do first timers find these 10 year old posts??? And why top them. Makes me wonder if this is advertising for the cafe.

You may be right adrienne. I can't imagine topping a 10 year old post to brag about eating someplace like le Welcome - twice.
