Le Sirenuse or Hotel Caruso - Some help in deciding

We have the wonderful opportunity of staying at either of these two hotels for two nights in October. They are both very expensive, but because we are traveling off season, and I guess, because of the economy, they are both offering very good deals. Anyone stayed at either, or both who can guide me??? thanks

We loved Le Sirenuse - beautiful rooms with views over the water. Great breakfast - cappucino, breads, cheeses, salame, fruits - on the patio also overlooking the water. It was a luxurious experience. And valet parking if you have a car!

I don't know the hotels, but Le Sirenuse is in Positano, which is quite touristy at any time of the year, and Hotel Caruso is in Ravello, which is more laid-back but in the hills above Amalfi and more difficult to get around from.

As always, pick the location not the hotel. Both are great--Ravello is isolated--your call.

Thanks for the replies. Following Bob's advice we will be staying at Hotel Caruso in Ravello. It looks beautiful and a little less touristy than Positano.

We had lunch at the Caruso many years ago... on a terrace overlooking a splendid view. The hotel itself has been renovated extensively since then... I'm green with envy -
