Hello fodorites....we are off to Le Marche next week and was wondering if anyone had any new discoveries or recommendations for a nice beach spot. We will be staying with the lovely Ahsley and Jason at La Tavola le Marche which I guess is not far from Urbino for refrence. We were thinking of Senigalia for beach but then we read about some nice spots in Fano. We want a place that has nice beach and where we can get some drinks and snacks at the beach as well with easy parking access if possible. Any other suggestions for a nice experience in Le March mos welcome.

So jealous! We live La Tavola Marche! We spent the day in Senigalia and it was pleasant although parking was a pain. There seemed to be some nice beaches around Fano as well.

Senigallia has a wider and sandier beach than Fano.

Parking is always a pain, especially on weekends, unless you arrive very early or in the late afternoon when people are starting to leave. It might also be relatively easy when people live nearby are starting to go home for lunch; I never arrive in the hottest part of the day, so I wouldn't know.

There are plenty of bars along the beach. I especially like the part of the beach northwest of the port, along the Lungomare Mameli, quieter and laid back. There'a nice stretch of free beach just north of the Hotel Sayonara, but there are also bathing establishments if you prefer that. One of my favorite restaurants, Raggiazzurro, is in that area.

vlenci....I assume when you are talking about the Lungomare Mameli that is Senigallia beach right?

Yes, that's Senigallia. Lungomare Mameli is the name of the beach road north of the port. South of the port, it's called the Lungomare Dante Alghieri. The southern part is more built up and at one time was considered the "elegant" part of town, with the big hotels. But tastes change, and glories fade ...

Anyway, I've always liked the northern part more.
