We have a lay over in Frankfurt, Germany and need a comfortable, clean and reasonably priced place to stay that is near the airport. Any suggestions?

I have stayed at the Hotel Tanne. It was approx 80 per night. Clean, comfortable, family run. 5 minute cab ride from the terminal. They have wake up calls, etc.
In a sort of "suburban neighborhood" so not much to see or do. We walked about 4 or 5 blocks to a restaurant for dinner (we wanted to do some walking). I am not sure if they have meals at the place.

I believe they have a website. If you cannot find them, email me and I might still have the info in my papers somewhere.

The airport is really only about 15 minutes away from the center of town - we fly in and out of Frankfurt on every trip to Europe, and frequently make a quick trip into town (there is a train that leaves from the airport that will get you there in about 15 minutes - regular departures).

So, while I can't recommend a specific hotel (have only stayed once in a hotel and it wasn't memorable), I'd say you can safely expand your search to in town.

Good luck!

The second answer is correct also, and if you have time, downtown is a pleasant place to see...stroll around the riverfront, etc.

We have also stayed close to the airport at the Holiday Inn, if you like that kind of place....and it was pretty easy to get into downtown.
Anyway, here is the info on that Hotel Tanne that I mentioned above
Airport-Hotel Tanne
Tannenstrasse 2
D-65451 Kelsterbach
Frankfort 65451
822 282 9330

Apparently they can be reached on the net also.
(Kelsterbach is the name of the "suburb" if you are looking at a detailed map of Frankfort).

We always stay at the Holiday Inn Express - they operate a shuttle to and from the airport and it's about 10-15 minutes away. They also offer day rooms for 55 Euro.
