lavendar or sunflowers ?

I will be in Provence and Burgundy the first 2 weeks of September. Does anyone know if the lavender or sunflowers will be in bloom and if so the best places to see them?

Lavender is in bloom early July till late August. In September the flowers will be picked already.
The sunflowers in my garden are out of flowers already, I'm afraid this will be the case in France too.

We drove past a few sunflower fields in southern France this week and the flowers were pretty much over, brown and drooping. I would imagine they'll be harvested soon.

The lavender is harvested as late as early september in the Alpes where the true lavender grows. The lower plateaus are the hybrid Lavendin. I picked a hug bouquet one September and the airplane was heavenly. Everyone thanked me for gret sleep.

I was in the south of France this week, and the sunflowers are finished. In the north of France, some of them are just beginning to bloom.

I am in the south of France right now, near the Pyrenees, and there are lots of bright sunflowers still blooming. Sad sunflowers though, with their heads down in the rain.
