last night in Ireland

My wife and daughter are doing a tour of southern Ireland in July 2005. I have found the information on this site very helpful. On the 11th of July I am staying in Adare and was considering two options heading up to Galway for my last full day and then a drive direct to Dublin for a night at the Airport hotel for an early morning flight on the 14th. Or heading accross country towards Dublin to say a night in Kinnitty at a place called Ardmore House and then on to Dublin. I understand the drive from Galway to dublin is 4 hours plus. Will I regret not visiting Galway

Bringing your message back up "to the top" since you are brand new here (how did I know that? Click on your own name - - a tip for finding any post you have ever made - - that Fodors fails to divulge to all new registrants, when they send you that confirmatory e-mail).

I see that you re-posted this question again just a half hour later (though you got it right this first time by mentioning Ireland in the message header) - - most likely, you were confused about "where did it go" (this first posting), and weren't sure how to find it.

Hope this gets you some answers.

Best wishes,

Rex

It all depends upon your age, your daughter's age and what else you have already seen at this point (12 July) of your travels. What types of things do you want to see / find interesting???

I hesitate to discourage people from seeing any part of Ireland, but your predispositions will determine whether or not any place is "worth" seeing.

Thank you - you are correct - could find the post so I reposted. I did think it was rather strange that I had to search for the post clicking on the name - good idea

Thanks - any advice on Ireland.

My daughter is 16 and doesn't like long drives. I was hoping to tour a castle on the last day and that is why the trip to Kinnity. But if Galway was something out of the orinary - which I know most of Ireland is we would make the long trip.

Thanks

Skip Galway and consider Cashel/ Cahir. You might want to stay at Carrigeen Castle in Cahir. Do a search, it has been mentioned a lot on this forum.
