Last Minute Restaurant Suggestions for Paris 17th Arrondissement

Hi we are going to be in Paris in a couple of weeks for a week. Staying at the Hyatt Paris Etoile in the 17th and I'm hoping for some suggestions for restaurants in the walkable area. We are going to want to eat near the hotel at least 2 or 3 times during the week, and are looking for moderately priced places with good Parisian food and atmosphere.

I do remember a year or two ago, there was a thread posted by a transient member of Fodor's, giving his restaurant suggestions for each arrondissement, but I cannot find it now. Maybe someone can help me out. My memory fails me, alas, I cannot even remember the poster's name, but allegedly it is someone who spends a lot of time in Paris.

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, your hotel is very far at the edge of the 17th, not really walkable to the many good restaurants in that arrondissement. I don't think you'll get many recommendations here for the neighborhood your hotel is in.

Thanks Belinda. That does not sound encouraging! Normally we stay in 6 or 7th arr. but got a really good rate at the Hyatt.

Well we definitely could take a taxi, just want to be close enough to the hotel as we’ll need to have an early night for early morning excursion times.

Many restaurants, especially good ones, will be closed for August, so a good recommendation will be specific to your dates for 2019. For the resto you linked to, if you try to make a reservation, you will see that they are closed from the 2nd of August to the 25th. The same will be true for most places.

Furthermore, most places are notoriously bad about keeping their websites (if they even have one) up to date. It can be really difficult to know what is open in August. Even ice cream shops might close in August!

Il etait une oie is a 15 minute walk from your hotel and you can reserve online for August, though they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
