laptop question
I'm traveling abroad w/ my laptop (writing while there) for the first time this trip - actually, it's the first trip that it will be in a 'neoskin', a neoprene protective cover and I'm wondering if, when the laptop needs to come out of my carry-on through security, does it also need to come out of the neoprene skin? (PIA, if so...) - this is something that fits the computer like a glove...
Thanks!
Thanks!

You will have to take it out of carry-on and skin to go through security and place it in one of the tubs to be scanned. They always make you place your laptop in one with nothing else in it. One of those TSA quirks I guess.

I have flown on 12 trips since the first of this year and only once was told to take my laptop out of the neoprene case.
All flights were out of Philadelphia to Phoenix, St. Thomas, and CDG and return. The one time forced to remove it from case was out of the C terminal in Philadelphia. This was from one of those TSA types barking orders to everyone.

I was asked to actually turn my computer on by security last year at the airport at Palma (Mallorca). I suppose it was to show that it was a computer, and not something else disguised as a computer.
Basically, you have to do what they ask if you want to catch that plane.
