Lander and Train Tickets in Germany

Hi, I'll be in Germany on Sunday and Monday.

1. On Monday, I'm thinking of taking the train from Frankfurt to Munich, stopping in Wurzburg and Rothenburg o.d.T.

It looks like the Bayern ticket will cover a huge part of this itinerary.

a. Does it work on Easter Monday? The ticket works on Mondays-Fridays; I don't see anything that it doesn't work on a holiday.

b. Can I buy the Bayern ticket in Frankfurt? If not, can I buy it ahead of time online?

c. Does it work on RE trains? The DB website says yes:

I checked the Bayern ticket website, but it doesn't single out RE specifically:

2. On Sunday I'm thinking of going to Heidelberg and Wiesbaden from Frankfurt. Is there a similar ticket that will cover these tickets?

Thanks.

There is a Hessen Ticket, similar to the Bayern Ticket, for the Frankfurt region. However, Heidelberg is in Baden-Wurttemberg.

If you are travelling on Sunday to Heidelberg and Wiesbaden, you could get the Schoenes Wochenende Ticket, which covers all of Germany (on the slower trains).

Thanks. I take it that even though Monday is a holiday, the Bayern ticket is still only valid after 9 am?

Another question: Do people know if the Frankfurt card covers the tickets to Wiesbaden?

http://tinyurl.com/pbqsj

The page says that the RMV transportation system is included. It seems like Wiesbaden should be included because it's on the S-bahn 8 or 9 line?

I may use this option instead and buy tickets to Heidelberg separately to save some time. (The one-way to Heidelberg is 18 euros.) Since I plan to visit some museums in Frankfurt and I get 50% off with the Frankfurt card, the difference in the end should be small.

Thanks!

No, of course not, it's Frankfurt not Wiesbaden.

Quotequot;free travel on all RMV public transport lines in the city area incl. Frankfurt Airport"

Have fun this week end!
