Lake Garda lakeside walk: Peschiera to Garda. Anyone done it?
I believe it's a 2 hour walk lakeside Peschiera to Lasize
and another 2 hours Lazise to Garda.
Just curious if anyone has done this walk, or parts of and what your impressions were.

Have walked the stretch from Lazise to Garda in high summer. The path is understandably flat as it follows the lakeshore and is quite busy with both walkers and cyclists, as there are a number of camp sites and sunbathing areas along the route.
We enjoyed the town of Bardolino as a place to wander around, about half way along the walk. If you are passing through at lunchtime, have a bite to eat at an outside table at Biri.

we started walking from Garda along the lakeside but you soon come up against camp sites etc.
you can get round but certainly that part of it isn't very exciting and we gave up and walked back.
We never got as far as Bardolino - sounds as if we should have pressed on. Ah well.

You can get some idea of the views of the walk by using Google maps and dragging the "street view" icon over to the lakeshore. Google will give you a serries of panoramic photos (since their Street view camera only works for the roads).
I stayed in Peschiera del Garda and took the boat to Bardolino, which is a lively holidaymakers town with a pretty church and lots of gelaterie and enoteche. That far south, the flat lakeshore is completely developed for recreation, and the views of the water are across the very wide bowl the lake (not easy to see the opposite shores). Just a guess, but if you are looking to take a walk, perhaps the prettiest stretch is from Garda to Torri del Benaco, which includes Punta San Vigilio (beloved by John Singer Sargent.) However, I don't know if the pedestrianized lungolago continues on that far north, or if there is motor traffic or private property right along the lake.
