Gasthaus zum Kreuz in Meggen, Switzerland Question
It has been a long time since the last time I posted on this website. You guys have never let me down in the past and hopefully someone can have some insight on this.
The hard question first: I am looking into the following hotel Gasthaus zum Kreuz in Meggen for end June/July. There had been reviews about this place from 2014 about construction around the hotel. Does anyone know it the construction is still going on, or recall seeing construction in the area.
The easy question, how necessary is A/C during this time of year in the Lucerne/Meggen area?
Thanks in advance for your help on this.

While the "average" temperature in Luzern for July and August is 75 degrees, the record highs are in the 90's. All depends on how heat sensitive you are. I have read MANY TA posts lamenting the hotels in Luzern which lack AC or have less than robust AC (you will seldom find the cold settings usual in the US).
I personally would opt for AC unless in the countryside or up in the mountains or with a balcony/window facing a large body of water.
Sorry, do not know your Gasthaus in Meggen.
Perhaps someone will chime in.

Of all the reviews on TA, only one complained of no AC. The rooms DO have large windows to open... But if your room faces the sun all day, you'd have to pull the drapes to keep heat out.
A more recurring complaint does seem to be the construction and noisy road traffic...good luck!
