Lake Como Ferrry Schedule - need help interpreting it

I'm looking at the summer ferry schedule (for fast service from Como - Colico). We need to travel from Como to Bellagio on a Saturday.

Reading their legend, “G” means “daily”, however, they only have “G” departures from Como at 8:45 am and 4:15 pm. They have more frequent departures under the designation “f – weekdays” – which I would assume means M-F.
However, they have a category, “fr5 – no Sat. and Sunday” – isn’t that the same as weekdays?? And does that imply that “f – weekdays” does include Saturday?

If my question OR the schedule makes sense to anyone, I’d appreciate your help.

Maire,

"G" runs daily, monday to sunday
upper case red "F" runs on sundays and holidays
lower case black "f" runs monday to saturday
"fr5" runs monday to friday and
"(c)" runs on saturdays only.

Hope this helps, enjoy your trip.

Phil.

It does help, Phil. Thanks. I was hoping the "f" ran on Saturdays.

Also be aware (unless things have changed in recent years) that there is an "express" (my word) boat to Bellagio that only makes a couple stops before Bellagio and takes about 45 minutes. And there is a "local" (also my word) that makes many stops and takes about 2 hours to Bellagio.

Maire- you're doing better than I am. I don't see our city (Tremezzo) listed in convenient "arrivals from" and "departures from" tables like Bellagio and Varenno. How the heck can you tell what time the last ferry from Bellagio to Tremezzo is on Saturday, June 17th? We're thinking about dinner reservations that night, but don't want to get stuck. Are there ferry schedule cliff notes?

I believe that the Tremezzo "stop" is actually Varenna. It's a short walk between the two towns.

Not to nit pick but make sure you get the terminology correct when asking schedules to the boat employees.

Ferry = targhetto = car/passenger vessel that runs only in the mid lake area.

Fast service = Hydrofoil = Aliscafo = runs Como to Colico

Ship = Battello = slow boat = 1) slow Como-Colico as well as 2) mid lake passenger only vessel.

According to the schedule I picked up last week (same as the online version), for Aliscafo COMO-Bellagio; there is corse SR24 leaving dock #3 on Saturday at 18:05 as well as another one SR26 also leaving dock #3 at 19:10. (both G designations)

After that there are two battel

No way, Howard. On opposite sides of the lake. There's an actual stop at Tremezzo.

On a diferent thread, europhile already got good advice (better from Steve James than from me) on taxi/bus service from Cadenabbia or Menaggio.

Best wishes,

Rex

For Lake Como ferry schedules, I always use www.navigazionelaghi.it. The website is in Italian but easy to figure out.

You won't be able to ferry from Bellagio to Tremezzo after dinner, but you can get to Menaggio and cab to Tremezzo.

Oops, you're right, Rex. It's another town, Candenabbia, I believe, that's next to Tremezzo. (Oh, I hope I'm right this time!)
