Laduree in NYC

Laduree of the famous macaroons is supposed to open a store at The Plaza, NYC in Oct. 2007. Unfortunately, the plan was cancelled. I just e-mailed the Laduree customer service in Paris and I was told that they are opening a store in Madison, NYC before 2009. SO, to those die-hard Laduree macaroon fans,we have about a year to salivate for them; although we can always have the La Maison at the NYC.

Do you mean they're opening a store on Madison Ave. in NYC? Will there be a tea salon as well? And what is "La Maison at the NYC"? Please explain.

My guess is they (Laduree) are planning to open a store on Madison Ave to compete with La Maison and Vosges Haut Chocolat - at 1100 Madison Avenue (82nd & 83rd).

Cafe would be very nice indeed

Odd. Because Fauchon left when the Drake was sold or renovated or something and has not reopened as they said they planned to do.

I'd love it if they'd BOTH set up shop!

We must go uptown to see if they pass the macaron quality test.
