Kroller-Muller Museum

Has anyone been to the Kroller-Muller Museum? How difficult is it to get to by public transportation from Amsterdam? Rick Steves' Amsterdam book seems to suggest that it is very complicated.

You could easily have looked this up yourself on the museum website:

Twasn't complicated at all for me -took train to Ede-Weningen (sp?) and then took a bus from in front of the station to park entrance and changed for waiting bus to the museum and outdoor statue park - if want you can, last I knew, pick up free white bicycles and ride several from park entrance to museum and around the Hoge Veluwe national park, several kilometres or so there.

Consider taking buses back to Amsterdam via Arnhem - a rather unique looking town for the Netherlands IME. Lots of trains Arnhem-Amsterdam.

Check www.ns.nl/en - Dutch Railways for schedules and possible deals on tickets. For general info on European and Duitch trains also check www.budgeteuropetravel.com; www.ricksteves.com and www.seat61.com.

When I went to Kroller-Muller I asked in Amsterdam at train info office about the best way and that is what they told me.

https://9292.nl/en/ is an online planner for all public transport in the Netherlands. There is also an app.

That will help you find the route best suited to you and your times.

If you have the time (and the weather) whilst there do spend some time enjoying the national park as well as the museum.

Alternatively you can try the tour mentioned on the museum website. https://krollermuller.nl/en/address-and-route bottom of the page. It is (imho) expensive but you may prefer the convenience.

Hi I have been to the museum and it is a lovely little museum situated in a private park. Great collection of art, Van Goghs in particular. I went there on a river cruise, and bus to museum, maybe 30 min from river/Rhine. Not much help on how to get there, but it is a fine little museum. Sue
