Just saw your post - sorry for the delay.
We stayed at the Europejski. It's just outside the wall and across the street from the bus and train terminal. I found the staff to be very helpful and the hotel charming. It was no Westin but we are the type that don't need all the amenities of home.
Breakfast was included and if I recall it was $60 US /night in April 2002. Hurr

Not sure you will lose with any of those, but I have stayed at Hotel Saski. Awesome location, great old hotel, and very affordable. It is 1/2 block from the main square. Their website is now available in English: www.hotel-saski.com.pl
