Kid Friendly B&B's

My wife,3 and a half year old son and I will be vacationing in Ireland this summer. We will be staying with family for the most part whose children are all grown up. The other part of are vacation we will be travleing to Galway, Donegal, Cashel and the New Grange, on our own. We would love and appreciate any recommedations of any Kid Friendly B&B's in those areas, where perhaps the owners may have kids closer to our son's age. THANKS SO MUCH!

Most B&B's are child friendly and let them know when you are booking the 3rd person is a child. Ireland is very child friendly.

Check out http://www.discoverireland.ie/ for B&B's in the areas listed there are thousands in Ireland so not everyone will have a reccommendation for egery area. If you go to Newgrange you could stay in the nearby town of Slane. Its a nice smaller town.

On the Town and Country website )http://www.townandcountry.ie) you can search for B&Bs with rooms that are triples which could help in finding what you need. As Siobhan says, you won't have any trouble finding child friendly B&Bs in Ireland. Whether or not they have children near your son's age might be difficult to research.

I don't actually remember staying in a B&B that the owner had a very young child, but I may not have noticed. You will frequently find the older kids helping out with breakfast in the morning.

Hope you have a great time in Ireland!!

I have stayed in B&B's where there were children in the house (Owners Kids including a baby). If you are looking for playmates for your child it would be hard as its a business for most and there kids will be in the family end of the house. They are still private homes with a family life going on as well.

Most B&Bs are kid friendly but some definitely are not. But their web sites will clearly tell you which is which. Some list age limits -- such as no children under 12, or no infants, or whatever they require. Others will indicate "family rooms" so you can be pretty sure they expect families/children (but still might have some sort of age limitation)

But do not expect the owners' children to play with or entertain yours. It MIGHT happen - but in most cases B&B children are trained early not to bother the paying guests.
