Justairports.com or Heathrow Express?

What's the best way to get from Heathrow to the center of London, specifically Camden Town, close to the London Zoo? Is www.justairports.com better than Uber?

What about the tube? What about taking Heathrow Express and then a taxi from Paddington Station?

What about the number of people in your party, which is relevant to the cost of your travel?

Even for one, the HEX plus taxi would be close to the door-to-door cost for a car service. For more than one, you'd be daft to take the HEX option over the car service.

2 adults, 2 children (10 and 1.5). I think a car service is the way to go, based on what you said. The Tube is an option too, but I think we will be too tired for it.

We need more info -- number of people, amount of luggage, mobility issues, how close you are to the Camden Town tube station, etc.

Assuming no mobility problems and a reasonable amount of bags, the tube would work. Piccadilly line from LHR to either Leicester Sq or Kings Cross then Northern line the Camden Town

justairports would be better and cheaper than the HEX + a taxi

uber is as expensive or more so than a regular black cab.

janisj, thank you! I am getting to that conclusion too. I noticed that the price of an estate car is much lower if one opt to pay cash. Do you know, by any chance, what the parking costs are? The quote is not including the parking, according to small print on the website.

justairports is a fave hereabouts, but after some less than wonderful service from them I tried and now use www.exclusiveairports.com. Been quite pleased - prices the same or even bit lower with their many special offers, service first rate.

The parking is nominal -- in fact the last two times I've used justairports the driver didn't charge me parking at all. They will monitor the flight status and park when it is close to you exiting arrivals.

I do travel carry-on only so never have to wait for luggage so that may be why there were no extra parking fees. W/ the kids and stroller etc you will likely take longer than I do so there may be some extra for parking. There are ATMs in arrivals near the luggage carousels so you can get cash there.

I wouldn't think there would be more than £5 extra unless you are seriously delayed at immigration or your bags don't show up.

Thank you so much! We will definitely have luggage but I think we'll just pay the cost of the parking.
@Seamus, thank you for the link to another service!

Seamus, we just used exclusiveairports.com on our trip in May and had terrific service. For our foursome, it was about 5 pounds cheaper than justairports.com, although we liked them also when we used them back in 2013.

Justairports.com is booked. our prices were the same through exclusiveairports.com and justairports.com, so we went to the justairports, but might use exclusive on the way back.

Used Justairports last Friday and Sunday. LGW to W1 and W1 to LHR. Have used them over 25 times without any problems except one online reservation which required an email from me to get confirmation

BTW, we (2 adults, two barbarians) used Just airports on Tuesday and here's what happened:

(1) chose to pay cash instead of by credit card because it quoted me 30 GBP for cash but 38 GBP for card for same car (saloon car, mid-level size). (BTW, Addison Lee, another reputable car service, quoted 52.50 for the same run and for its smallest car).

(2) reserved a 7:15 pickup.

(3) driver was waiting outside our door before 7 (because that's when I went out to look for him and he was already there).

(4) driver waited without agitation while we pulled all our s--t together and cleared our rental flat.

(5) driver delivered us safely and swiftly to Heathrow.

Thus, likelihood of using Just Airports to return to Heathrow in the future is exceedingly high.

We had a great experience with Just Airports. We had a driver waiting for us at Heathrow airport for over an hour, due to the long passport control line for non-EU citizens. He was gracious, although he expressed some frustration with the wait time, but I specifically requested a pick-up one hour after our expected arrival time.

Overall, I would highly recommend this service! Thanks to all!
