Justairports.com

I did an online booking. An automatic response said they would confirm in 24 hours. It's been about 48 hours and still no response. I sent them an inquiry about a week ago, but did not receive an answer to that either. I leave on Sunday. I know a lot of you have said that they are reliable. Am wondering if I should make alternate plans.

I would call them to confirm and not assume that you have a booking if you haven't received a reply.

So I picked up the phone and called them. We are confirmed. When I mentioned that I had filled out an outline form and wanted to make sure we weren't double booked, they didn't seem too concerned. Will report back after the trip. Thanks all.

Thanks for reporting back. I tried to use them in Feb. in Paris and they never responded to my emails either, we just picked up a cab upon arrival, but I am glad to hear that you had a good experience with them.

jaydh42: Will you PLEASE look at your other posts. You have asked those same questions at least twice and got answers both times. (When you ask something you need to check back to see if you got any answers and not just keep re-posting the same thing).

If you don't want to do that then justairports is Per car/VAT included/cheaper for cash . . . . . .

You caught me "dead to rights" Janisi. Seems like their price is about the same as taking the train from Heathrow to London. It's just a little upsetting that I've written them two e-mails and they havn't replied.

jaydh42. justairports may cost the same IF you are only going to Paddington Station. But if you are going anywhere else in London you need to factor in the taxi (or tube) costs from Paddington. If you are staying just about anywhere in the center of town (Westminster, Victoria, Covent Garden, Russell Square, etc) a taxi will be £10 to £15 or could even be more if the traffic is really bad.

Plus you will have to schlepp your luggage from arrivals to the Heathrow Express station and, at the Paddington end, to the taxi rank.

Janisi, I totally agree with you regarding add on for taxi after getting to bus terminal or main train station and therefore, JustAirports it will be. I wrote them yesterday at another e-mail address:
[email protected], and surprise, surprise I received a response this morning. I asked how much for two with one carry-on and regular suitcase each from Heathrow to Cumberland Hotel W1. Answer was 27 GBP
which includes VAT (Ha!)and credit card is more expensive as credit card handling fees and VAT are added on.

One other thought! Would you know how far it is from Marble Arch tube station to Cumberland Hotel at Great Cumberland Place W1? Where do you reside Janisi? It's got to be either London or US. Just curious.

Jaydh42: The Cumberland Hotel is very close to Marble Arch tube - Like a 2 or 3 minute walk. Very convenient.

I'm in California - but I lived in the UK for five years and visit there a lot.

We call home Granada Hills, california.
Would be a laugh riot if you lived down the street from us. I guess not!

Jaydh42: No. not neighbors - I'm up north just outside of Sacramento. But when I used to travel for work a lot, I often visited 2 of our branch offices in Woodland Hills and Van Nuys. I've been to Granada Hills for parties in a local manager's home.

JanisJ:

Well i guess whatever the question is, it has already been asked and answered numerous times. This is still one of the best places to pick up tid bits of information on whatever travel subject one has. Seems as though you spend a lot of time on this board helping out with all sorts of mundane trivia that is quite important to those asking the questions. That's it for me. It's 11:10 PM and I'm off to dream land. Talk to you again if another question pops into my mind. Almost everything for next July's trip is in place, however, except for Justairports. How long do you think I should wait to book them??

Yep - I need to get a life, huh?

Anyway - you really don't need to book justairports months ahead of time - if your trip is in July I'd contact them in maybe early June.

I called them up a day or two in advance of my arrival to book. I don't think they need much notice.

Ha! I was just going to post the question out to all i.e conventional wisdom as to when to call them to reserve. NOW you have gone and answered that question. Thanks JanisJ and all others I think mid June should be alright if we need them on July 6. I have now taken care of most loose ends such as hotels, flights and other transportation. Now I can get back to other things like overseeing stocks and mutual funds I follow.
