Nicegal-
not sure if you know this or not, but typing in ALL CAPS for an entire message, is considered shouting.
Many people find it abrasive.
I personally try to reserve caps for emphasizing words, or showing extreme excitement or displeasure.

I also got dumped prior to one of my trips (Southeast Asia), and like you, I decided to take the trip anyway. Emotionally, it was a bit rough at times, but I'm glad I went.
I have never been to Belfast, so can't offer you any advice. Just wanted to say I'm glad you are moving forward with your plans and I hope you have a wonderful trip!

When you are in Belfast you might want to take a bus tour of the city. This is an easy way to see around. The tours are organised by our local bus company,www.translink.co.uk/belfasttours.asp enjoy your visit Ice

There are great tours designed for single, married /budget traveler /hosteling travelers. One is Tir na nog in Ireland and another is Slowbus in England. Another in Scotland called MacBackpackers. I did two of them and had a fantastic time and met lots of great people who I still keep in touch with.
You will absolutely love it. Try some keywords on a serch engine. I can not remember their web site names.

Don't know when your trip is, but if you haven't left yet: IYH has a hostel smack in the middle of Belfast. It's a great location (as long as you never turn left when you walk out the front door), and the accommodations are fine. It's also a great place to meet people who are on their way to the pub.
