InMiami,

Flam vs. Aurland just depends on your interests/activities. I tried to list what I thought was good about each. I like to limit my transport transfers and lodge near by transfer points and activity points.

The towns are only 10-15 minutes apart by boat or bus. Aurland is larger than Flam, but no city.

Sylbea, we were just Oslo-Myrdal in late June. There was patchy snow up on the plateau and you could see the glaciers from the train.

InMiami :

As Kay wrote, there was only some patchy snow here and there, even in the north. The locals explained that because of warm ocean currents, it doesn't snow too much on the western coast.
