Just back from Italy

My family and I just came back from spending 8 glorious days in Roma. We also did a day trip to Firenze. We stayed at the Hotel Dei Mellini and I can't say enough good things about the hotel. Very nice and good size rooms and bathrooms, nicely decorated. The hotel is centrally located but at the same time is tucked away from busy streets and it was very quiet at night. It's a 4 star hotel but we got a better rate( better than in their own website!) by contacting the hotel directly. Had dinner/lunch in several places but the ones that stand out were: La Campana, L'Orso 80( both near Piazza Navona)and Girarrosto Toscana at Via Campania( end of Via Veneto). Weather was good, we only had rain on two ocassions but not for the whole day.

I just returned myself from 12 days in Rome. By chance, did you order the MIXED ANTIPASTO at L'ORSO 80? It included nine large bowels of food.Glad you had a good time. Mike
