Patti,
I just looked up Pepelnjak on an International White Pages site, and found four listings; three in Zagreb, and one in Repisce. You might try:

Callalilli - We are thinking of flying from UK to Split, then getting a week long sailing boat trip from Split to Split, visiting the island of Hvar, Brac or is it Bol, then Dubrovnik, & other islands which can think of. Did you happen to see any of these sailing boats or hear about them on your holiday. I think they only take about 15 people. They are called KR Sailing Holidays.

Callalilli,
Not familiar with KR Sailing Holidays. In fact, I tried googling them and got no hits. However, I did that coast in my own boat many years ago (1970s), and so was interested in the sailing scene when we went there in 2004.
I saw a LOT of charter yachts, and talked to some of the skippers and crew. It seemed there were a number of companies offering both bare-boat and crewed charters. I don't think you should have any trouble getting hooked up with whatever level of independence you might feel comfortable with.
I must say that the number of yachts scrambling for moorings at popular ports like Hvar each evening was nothing like my earlier experience, when we were often the only sailboat in the harbor. My advice is to get in early if you want a convenient place to tie up or anchor.
Sailing in those crystal waters with my family remains one of the highlights of my life. I'm sure you would love it.

tropo. .. i'm sorry i dont have any information about sailing or chartering a boat, but we did meet some people (actually from our home town), when we were having lunch in Mljet who rented their sailboat in Split for a week. they were having a GREAT time and the boat was beautiful. They just docked the boat right at the restaurant! I would definitely check it out some time if I was with someone who knew what they were doing. --I hope you do it.. i would love to read that trip report!

THEY'RE BACK !! MY PICTURES !! well, some of them... can you believe it??? my son's friend's dad is a camera/computer wizard.. and we gave him the card out of the camera. He gave it back to us in about an hour.. with 253 deleted photos back on it. Well, that sounded good, but for some reason our Dubrovnik photos were not on there (while Ireland from last summer were!). Well, at least we got about 20 photos from Mljet. Pretty much confirms what I was saying all along.. it wasn't ME.. it was the camera! O
thanks JulieVikmanis... for the great suggestion!! shows there is always HOPE. Please remember this for future mishaps! its really exciting, isn't it?

Hi Callalilli!
I am back - I got a pic of the exclamation point sign for you too, but I see it is one that you were able to recover from your camera.
I ended up with 1700 pictures from Croatia and the Sorrentine Peninsula in Italy. If there are any specific shots of Dubrovnik you want to replace, I will see if I have it.
BTW, knowing that you collect road signs, I have a great one from Ireland in 2004 that I could send to you if you are interested!

Hi Callalilli:
I have GREAT pics from the town walls and of the tile roofs - I mean, hard to take a bad picture of Dubrovnik, right?? I will send some to you this weekend.
We did love it, totally, and I SO want to go back. We love to boat and I can just picture being on a sleep-aboard motor boat cruising the islands, and stopping at the coves and towns along the coastline....
I am going to try a trip report this weekend - I am not a creative and witty writer like many here, but I hope all our Croatia loyalists will give it a peek!
