Jungfrau area vs Zermatt area
We only have 3 days in Switzerland and/or France. We are torn between the Jungfrau area or Zermatt/Chamonix. We just can't fit both in. Any recommendations?

We have enjoyed both, however, our distinct preference is the Berner Oberland (Jungfrau and other Alps). To us, that region is the most beautiful region in the world. Stunning vistas and hypnotizing hiking--not to mention parasailing that gives you views of the entire region. Never tire of going back (eight trips and counting).

A very tough call indeed. I'd favor the Berner Oberland only because of the geography - it's more open in the sense that you can go from one valley to another without having to do what the Valais/Wallis forces you to do - pretty much to descend to the bottom then go up another valley.
In the Berner Oberland you get many different angles from which to see the "Big Three" (Eiger - Moench - Jungfrau) and you have more choices.
But as far as beauty on a nice day, it's abundant in both regions.
A look at a good map will tell you what I mean.

I love both of them. The Berner Oberland is more open and so tourists are more spread out. Zermatt is a small little compact city teeming with tourists. They have a very different feel, but for 'vistas', I would say Berner Oberland.
