And here's hoping that the rest of my obsessive attempts to figure this out has worked....

Thanks, Nikki! There was such great light one evening in Paris, and we really tried to use it.
luvtotravel, Enjoy your trip to Amsterdam! I envy you the chance to be there when the tulips are in bloom, too. It was too late in the summer. Sigh, another excuse to go back, right?

Paule, this is my third time to Amsterdam and it is primarily for the tulips. I have a few places to see/things to do "before I die," and this is one of them. My first trip there was in May 1979 and the second time was in June 1996 -- both times too late for the tulips.

Great TR! Finally had a chance to read it all the way through. It will be very useful as we plan our fall trip. I could so relate to your comments on navigating. I am so happy Siri came along and reduced that burden.

So glad you enjoyed it! It was so much fun to read it - I can't believe that it was over 10 years ago when we made this trip, right after I graduated with my MSW, and now I'm thinking of retiring !!!
I will see if I can find the photo albums, now migrated to Flickr, as my photos are no longer in shutterfly.

I missed this before so enjoyed reading it also, I really liked your impressions and personal cmmments on places/restaurants. I didn't realize until most of the way through that it was 6 years old!
still lots of good info, though.

So glad you both are enjoying it! It's funny reading something from 11 years ago as our travel style has gotten a little bit fussier - but only a little!
I'll try to post the links to our photos when I have some more time, yestravel.
