Going to Venice, sometimes in the first 2 weeks of October. Will start doing major hotel research and planning after the first of the year.

Planning a graduation trip to Rome for my son and my nephew some time in late May or early June. Hoping to avoid the heat but go late enough to find pleasant temps. I went there (Rome, Florence, Venice) in October 1999 and it was HOT! Get air conditioned rooms!!

Finally decided on Sicily in June ( the only time I can go). We haven't worked out an itinerary yet.

Oh, anyone ever stay at the Ucciardhome in Palmero?

Montepulciano, Florence and Bologna the second week in January. We love to travel in Italy in January due to lack of tourist crowds.

@ AP6380
We're going to Calabria because it's still unspoilt (but being discovered by the large European tour operators!) and on the recommendation of my sister who has been going for the last 5 years for a couple of times a year (we're both living in Europe). We think of staying in or near Tropea. Suggestions for a moderately priced small hotel/B&B/agriturismo are always welcome!

It's definitely unspoiled. I always do Tropea as a daytrip from my family's, but I have some hotels bookmarked at home. Even though I have no personal experience with them I will post them later. What large tour operators are doing trips there?

Both the Neckermann group and TUI, the leading TO's in Europe.

June 14-24. My husband and I and our twelve year old son. Most of the time we are staying in Montefalco and exploring Umbria. This is our fourth time to Italy and third for our son. Will finish the week off with just one night in Rome.

I just got back from a two-week stay in November, and I am planning on a March return, and possibly another autumn trip!

My college-aged niece suggested we do spring break together in Italy. It will be her first trip out of the eastern time zone. We have reservations in Venice and Rome for March 11-19.

A friend and I are also planning northern Italy in early May. . . lakes and good food our only requirements. Still planning. . .
