Italy weather

Help! I asked this question before and received several choices, but unfortunately misplaced my notes and seem unable to find that thread. We are leaving Wed. for Rome, Florence and Venice. I need to know what to pack other than rain gear. Is it cold?

rondawitch, just talked to a friend about 40 minutes north of Venice the other night. It is cold!! And newsreports state Venice has been having rain/wind/flooding.

So think you do want to take clothes that will keep you warm and dry when you are in Venice. A happy trip to you!

On NBC news this morning they showed did a tiny piece on current flooding in Venice.

The boardwalks my dad and I just sat upon, (which we thought were construction bits)were being used by to walk obeve the water. And they were packed with people trying to keep their feet dry. Poor "soles".

I just uploaded a picture showing dad sitting on the walk. (It is the last one showing on the page.)

I leave Friday! We're jsut doing Florence and Rome, looks liek the lows are 51 and the high's are mid 60s. I hope the rain stops some, or at least it's not all day rain!

Here's a good source for current weather in Venice. You may wish to check out Buongiorno Venizia, a weekly sort of newsletter that I receive by e-mail (where I got this link to weather). You will find info on all activities in Venice for the week.

We flew out of Rome yesterday and the weather there was quite warm - luckily I had put in two short sleeve tops but walking at midday day I was toooo hot! I went to Venice ready for rain and flooding but saw very little except for at St. Marks (tho the sky was gray everyday!) All in all the weather was nicer than I expected, we ate outside almost every meal - hope you end up being pleasantly surprised. SueC1
