italy islands

Help! I recently read an article in the travel section of a gourmet magazine about an island off the coast of Italy. The article described it as an uncrowded version of Capri and recommended visiting in the next 10-12 years as it will surely become another Capri eventually. So far I can't locate the article I read of anything that jogs my memory. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

I think it began with the letter P

Could it have been Pantelleria? I also read an article in Travel+Leisure magazine about this island and it sounded very alluring. It is off the southwest coast of Sicily and it is known for its capers.

Betsyc - It's almost certainly Ponza ...

- but DON'T TELL ANYONE!

www.ponza.it
www.coppa.com/ponza
www.ponza.com

It's off the coast of Lazio between Rome and Naples.

Hope this helps ...

Ponza...a wonderful place. I just keep hoping Steves doesn't find out about it or it will become as "touristy" as his other two masterpieces of marketing: Rue Cler and Cinque Terre!
