You can easily google for weather stats http://www.holiday-weather.com/country/italy/
Sept is a very popular tourist month in Italy, definitely not out if season!

I love Italy in September. Many of the European tourists are gone back to work/school by mid-September. Though this is still considered high season. Late September is better than early September.
Depending on where you are.. I've had 50's and rain in Venice and 85 in Florence and 80 in Rome (after 50's and rain in Rome!). So, it's all over the map.
You can surely find an almanac on line that can give you "best guesses" for this year.

It depends,
Away from the big 5 (Venice, Florence, CT, Rome, Amalfi) tourists go back to low level with easy hotel booking and restaurants easy to get into except at the weekend. Yes there exceptions, but it kinda works.
In the south it stays warm but up in the Alps it is getting cool and there can be rain

If you want help, play nice..
It is likely to be hot. On the coast, it is likely to be hot and humid. In the mountains it will be cooler.
If you want to know more, you will have to look up statistics on a site like the one Jamikins found for you.

Italy?
Do mean the Dolomites or Sicily?
Warm? Where are you from, how do you define warm?
Warm to me is 35oC plus, in which case very few areas above Rome reach these temperatures in September. August is the most busy month as nearly all the country closes down for a summer break, coastal resorts will be incredibly busy but in September much less so.

<< Jamikins, not helpful bro >>
Well smart ass, Jamikins was helpful to you with the web site as temps will vary widely from Sicily to the mountains in the north and from the beginning of September to the end of the month.
You certainly were very scanty with the details so you can't expect more definitive help since no one here is a mind reader.

I thought/think it will be hot. I went in October last time, and it was perfect. I thought it might be less touristy at that time because school was in session, so there wouldn't be so many school-aged people. I'd forgotten about the senior citizens like us.
It wasn't jammed, but there were plenty of people there.
