Italy- best time of year?

Hi All,
Was planning on going on a contiki trip and wanted to go at a busy tourist time but not a sweltering, humid and hot time...can anyone recommend what months are best??

Thanks in advance,
Ange

Try September. There are still tourists but not nearly as many as you will encounter in July or August.

We went to Venice, Florence and Rome in September a few years ago and the weather was still warm, but comfortable.

BTW, here is a link that shows the average tempature in Rome by month.

Hi ange,

I like mid-Sept to mid-Oct.

The porcini mushrooms are in season, the olive oil is out, and the grapes are being harvested.

mid-May to mid-June is also nice.
