Italy - december2014

Planning my trip to -thinking Venice, Florence, Rome - 10 days. Just trying to figure where to fly in and out of. Planning on taking the train between cities. Thoughts?

yes to trains,
look at take off and landing times to help make the decision, logically into Venice out of Rome but a check may turn it around

Budget per night in euros? For how many people? What are you expecting? Budget and simple? Moderate and pleasant?

Rome I liked staying in the quarter called the Vatican, done it twice, mainly residential with local supermarkets and shops all around so a bit less touristy until you push up against the actual Vatican.

Venice, sounds silly but try and be at least near the water but not on a main pedestrian pathway/junction. Search on this site for recommendations (use the search box for each city) and double check on tripadvisor

Just a point in Rome do chose to be close to an urban train station, yes you can use the buses but the train makes it so much easier to get about.
