Italy: any review of guides

My wife and I are going to Italy (along with her parents and sister). Heading to Rome and Venice. We really don't have much time because my wife can only take one week of vacation (her parents and sister are staying longer). She insists we go to Venice. So, we need to split our time. We are headed in May (yes, a little last-minute and peak season).

I'm trying to find reasonably priced accommodations (as cheap as you can go yet acceptable for in-laws). Any thoughts?

By the way, in perusing these Italian posts, I've noticed postings from "www.Ivangianni.it" Anyone know of reviews (good/bad)?

Thank you for your time. Have a nice day.

What "guide" is your title referring to? What is "reasonable" as far as nightly rates for you and the in-laws?

gamidtown - Ivan Gianni has been banned from Fodor's for abusing the forum for advertising - this was only on Friday, when his screenname was "HelpVenice"... and I'm quite sure that he has been banned earlier on under his (real?) name "Ivan Gianni". Today, he's back as "VenetianMan", let's see how long he's going to stay with us, this time.

Dear Sir

Mr Ivan Gianni was banned because his opinions were misunderstood ...

we Please you so to take note that

He was born in Venice
He lives in Venice
and he works in Venice as well

He knows ,day after day the changes of the city and he only proposes his own opinions in this forum.

Looking his website , you will realize that spam or bad adverting
