Italian Timing - Everything Closed 1- 4 pm??

And yes, if you're in a church when it's time to close, you will be shooed out!

It would be a shame not to order our famous cappucio as the italians calls it! I have lived in Rome for 3 years and shops are closed between 1-4, restaurants between 3-6.30 pm! There is so much to do during these hours that I do not think you will really feel an inconveniece! I recommend you go to visit the Vatican Museums from 12 noon onwards as everyone(tourists) goes on lunch and the lines to get in become shorter!! Have fun!
