Transparent.com has CD's available.

If you want to know more than dove il bango, or vorrei un cafe, per favoure; I would urge you to take a course, as there's alot to pick up and you still have time before you leave.

Italian for Idiots is a really good book (despite the title), and although I'm taking classes still I use it as a reference guide. Ciao e bouna fortuna!

I really like the Pimsleur series. The full set is rather expensive; luckily the local library had it. I'm heading off in a few days, it will be interesting to see how much I really learned!

I agree with Jane, a course would be the best so you get interaction with others. I couldn't find one to fit my schedule or I would have jumped on it. Some places offer Italian language courses geared towards travelers.

Good luck!

I went to my local library and checked out different CD's and tapes and this way I figured out which tape/CD I wanted to use to learn as much as I needed/was able to remember.
