Italian Language
I will be visiting italy this summer with my family, does anyone know of any good at home learning CD's or computer programs that are good to learn basic Italian or even advanced?
Thanks for any help you may be able to give.
|
Transparent.com has CD's available.

If you want to know more than dove il bango, or vorrei un cafe, per favoure; I would urge you to take a course, as there's alot to pick up and you still have time before you leave.

Italian for Idiots is a really good book (despite the title), and although I'm taking classes still I use it as a reference guide. Ciao e bouna fortuna!

that should read bagno, not bango.

Oh but I LOVE "dove il bango"!!

Let's see...translates as:

Where is the fireworks stand?
Where is the drum store?
Where can I get a hot date?
Marilyn My mind is dirtier than yours. :)

I really like the Pimsleur series. The full set is rather expensive; luckily the local library had it. I'm heading off in a few days, it will be interesting to see how much I really learned!

I agree with Jane, a course would be the best so you get interaction with others. I couldn't find one to fit my schedule or I would have jumped on it. Some places offer Italian language courses geared towards travelers.

Good luck!

I went to my local library and checked out different CD's and tapes and this way I figured out which tape/CD I wanted to use to learn as much as I needed/was able to remember.
