Italian Lakes Area - Weather in Sept.

Weather.com and other sources have been helpful with weather in Rome, Venice, etc., but I'm having a hard time finding info about September weather in the area around Lakes Como and Maggiore.

Mid-September, 2006.
Thanks!

I was at Lake Maggiore three years ago, Sept 9-14 and the weather was wonderful, sunny and warm and clear. We were able to swim most days at the hotel pool.

August was unusually rainy; September so far bids to be unusually sunny and warm.

For short-term forecasts, try here: http://www.comuni-italiani.it/097/084/meteo.html
...a bunch of links for forecasts for Varenna (I chose the center-lake region to try to get a balanced picture for you).

best regards,

I'm wondering the same thing. I will be in Ravenna in early July of next year and the hotel I am staying in (Albergo Milano) does not have air conditioning. Should I be concerned??

zannie, yes. One never knows but we were in Ravenna just for a day in mid June this year and we nearly died of the heat.

The reason it's so hard to figure out the weather for September in the lakes is because it is so undependable. It could be very warm, could be mild, or it could really turn cool. Think layers -- the only answer.

If that is the case, I'm wanting an air conditioner! The avg. in Lugano for July is 85. The lows are much better and perhaps that is what I really need to be concerned with insofar as comfort w/ sleeping. Hotel du Lac does not have any rooms and that is the one place I understand has air. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I believe the Eremo Gaudio in Varenna has air conditioning. If you have mobility problems, however, it is probably not the best choice. The hotel has elevators, but getting up to the hotel entranceway requires a walk uphill.
